I am currently working on machine perception at Google Research (AI). My main area of focus is 3d scene understanding (3d object detection and instance segmentation). Please reach out if this matches your area of interest. Before joining Google, I spent a couple of great years at Apple. I was a Postdoctoral Fellow in FeiFei Li's lab at the CS Department at Stanford University. I received my Ph.D. degree from Georgia Institute of Technology, and my B.Sc. degree from Sharif University of Technology.

Datasets I collected during grad school

Feb 2018
We have released support for instance segmentation in TensorFlow Object Detection API. For further details refer to our slides from the 2017 Coco + Places Workshop. Refer to the section on Running an Instance Segmentation Model for instructions on how to configure a model that predicts masks in addition to object bounding boxes.
Nov 2017
We got 2nd place in MS COCO Stuff semantic segmentation competition. Also 2nd place in semantic instance segmentation in places challenge.
June 2017
We have open sourced our object detection code in tensorflow. More information here.
