Bangpeng Yao (姚邦鹏)

• I am currently a PhD student in the Computer Science Department of Stanford University, advised by Professor Fei-Fei Li. I am a member of the Stanford Vision Lab, where I am exploring various computer vision problems on recognizing and understanding human actions.
• I did internship in Willow Garage in 2011 summer, working with Gary Bradski on object detection and classification with applications to robotics.
• I spent my 2010 summer in Microsoft Research at Cambridge, UK, where I worked with Carsten Rother on random forest based image segmentation. I also worked closely with Sebastian Nowozin and Pushmeet Kohli.
• Before I moved to Stanford, I worked with Professor Li Fei-Fei in the Computer Science Department of Princeton University as a PhD student for one year. In Princeton, I worked on both computer vision and computational neuroscience.
• I spent six years in Tsinghua University. In July 2008, I got a master degree from the Computer Science and Technology Department. In the Image and Vision Computing Group, I worked with Professor Haizhou Ai on face recognition problems. In July 2006, I received my bachelor degree from the Department of Automation. In my senior year, I worked with Professor Shao Li on microarray analysis problems in the Bioinformatics Division.

• I have a PAMI paper accepted, co-authored with Li Fei-Fei. (February 2012)
• I am awarded the Microsoft Research PhD Fellowship for 2012-2013. (January 2012)

• PASCAL VOC Challenge Winner Prize! Our team (B. Yao, A. Khosla, and L. Fei-Fei) ranked No.1 on 6 classes out of 10 in the 2011 action classification challenge. (November 2011)
• I have two oral papers accepted by ICCV 2011. (June 2011)
• I will be the student ambassador of the Stanford Computer Forum in the academic year 2011-2012. (June 2011)
• I have an invited oral paper in the cross-conference track of ICML 2011, co-authored with Aditya Khosla and Li Fei-Fei. (May 2011)
