At the beginning of my 2019 trekking trip I spent three acclimatization days in Leh. I used part of that time to re-visit some areas of Leh. On the fourth day, on my way to Mulbekh (the starting point of the trek) I briefly stopped in Lamayuru to visit its gompa.

To see photos of Leh and its surroundings that I took on previous trips, click on the following links: 2013 and 2016.

The massive, nine-storied Leh Palace, a former royal residence constructed around 1600.

Houses and streets in the old part of Leh, below the palace. There is ongoing effort to restore some old houses. Unfortunately, many were razed during the past two decades.
