Introduction

I am a research associate at the CS department of Stanford University with Prof. Chris Manning, in the Natural Language Processing group, a part of the Stanford Artificial Intelligence Laboratory.

My main research interests are in Machine Learning and its applications to Textual Information Retrieval, Information Extraction and Data mining. I am currently working on applying Machine Learning and NLP techniques to analyze the legal domain, specifically, in the area of Intellectual Property Litigations. Here is my detailed CV.

Background

Previously, I was a post doctoral fellow at the Machine Learning department in the School of Computer Science of Carnegie Mellon University, with Prof. John Lafferty and Prof. William Cohen. I also worked very closely with Prof. Eric Xing during this time. I earned a Ph.D. from the Computer Science department at University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 2006, where I worked with Prof. James Allan at the Center for Intelligent Information Retrieval. Previously, I earned a Masters' in Mechanical Engineering at the same school where I worked with Prof. Blair Perot. I earned my undergrad degree in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, India, in 1998. A more detailed CV is here.
