CGC is a collaborative center of the Brown, Duke, and Johns Hopkins Universities, and is funded by the U.S. Army Research Office. Location: Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland. Themes: The focus of this meeting is to bring together researchers >From academia, industry, and Army to stimulate collaboration on problems of common interest arising in geometric computations. Topics include: Algorithmic methods in geometry; Applications of computational geometry, including robustness and implementation issues; Computer graphics; Animation of geometric algorithms; Computer-aided design, solid modeling, mesh generation; Geographic information systems; Robotics and machine vision. Following the tradition of the first five MSI Workshops on Computational Geometry, the format of the workshop will be informal, extending over 2 days, with an open problem session and several breaks scheduled for discussions. Invited Speakers (so far include): Bernard Chazelle (Princeton) Call for papers: We invite submissions of abstracts for talks to be given at the workshop. Please send an abstract (2 pages) and a draft of a paper (if you have one). Email submissions are encouraged; send to goodrich@jhu.edu. Ideally, the abstract should be a PostScript or HTML file, for ease in assembling the abstract booklet. Submissions should arrive by September 2, 1996. Authors will be notified of acceptance by September 10, 1996. A booklet of abstracts will be distributed at the workshop and made available electronically on the Web; there will be no formal proceedings for this workshop. Registration is on-site, and includes the abstract booklet, lunches, and coffee breaks. Accommodations. We have reserved blocks of rooms in several local inns. Please make your reservations in one of them by September 15, 1996, and please mention the workshop name when making arrangements. Broadview Apartments. 116 W.
