As these forms will be sent to those who received the call for papers, then if you did not receive it, please send us your address. If you know the conference and hesitate to come or not, let us present the invited speakers and the subjects of their talks: T. Y. Kong, Queens College, NY, USA, on: "Topology preserving deletion of 1's in 2-d, 3-d and 4-d binary images". P. Gritzmann, University of technology, Munich, Germany, on: "Discrete tomography" P. Lienhart University of Poitiers, France, on: "Topology based modelisation and discrete geometry". Now if you don't know what DGCI is talking about, here is a summary: DGCI'97 is the 7th in the series of international conferences on Discrete Geometry for Computer Imagery and follows the succesfull 1996 edition held in Lyon (France). The aim is to federate researchers on discrete geometry, image analysis, image synthesis and discrete models. Discrete geometry plays an important and ever expanding role in the fields of image modelling, synthesis as well as image analysis. It deals with topological and geometric definitions of digitized objects or digitized images. Related algorithms that compute and preserve these properties are basic tools in well- known problems such as shape representation, image generation or transforms, image analysis or pattern recognition, not to list them all. This 7th edition will take place in Montpellier. It is organized by the Lirmm laboratory, (Laboratoire d'Informatique Robotique et Microelectronique de Montpellier - UMR CNRS 55060) and the University of Montpellier II. The conference will offer tutorials, invited talks, lectures on selected articles, presentations of selected posters, and demonstrations. The proceedings of the 7th edition will be published by Springer Verlag, in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science series.
