To celebrate this occasion, and in honor of Rabin's monumental and continuing contributions to computer science, we are holding a three day international workshop under the title "Randomness and Computation". The workshop will take place at the Hebrew University, Jerusalem, Israel, June 15-17, 1997. The workshop will focus on issues relating to the use of randomness in computer science, both from the complexity stand point, and algorithmic applications. The workshop will include some survey lectures, but will be mostly composed of talks describing recent results. Special time slots will allotted for on-the-spot presentation. It is the hope and intention that the workshop will be an active research environment. All members of the computer science community are warmly invited to participate. Many Israeli and several US researchers have already promised their attendance. Local accommodations for overseas attendees will be provided. Some funding may be available to support overseas travel expenses. Please contact aumann@cs.biu.ac.il if you plan to arrive from overseas. (The Israeli theory conference, ISTCS, will take place during the same week, June 17-19 (one day overlap), in Ramat Gan, Israel.) Workshop Organizers: Yonatan Aumann and Michael Ben Or
