The Stanford Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (SAIL) in the Department of Computer Science, School of Engineering, Stanford University invites applications for multiple postdoctoral scholar positions. These positions will allow free-ranging innovative research, potentially working with multiple Stanford AI faculty. They are funded for two years at a starting salary of $87,000 plus benefits, with a possibility of renewal by individual professors, and with a possible start date from September 2020 to April 2021. Due to current constraints on visa availability, people who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents will most likely need to start from January 2021 on.

We are seeking applicants doing research at the forefront of all areas of artificial intelligence, including machine learning, robotics, computer vision, natural language processing, genomics, healthcare, AI’s societal impact and AI-connected cognitive and neuroscience.

Applicants must have completed their Ph.D. before starting up the appointment and must have demonstrated the ability to pursue a program of research. There are opportunities for postdocs to teach or co-teach courses at Stanford during the appointment.

  • A brief (2 pages maximum) research statement addressing the specific future areas that you hope to work on and how they build on your previous work. Please include your preferred start date;
