In February 2001, immediately after having climbed
Aconcagua, I traveled (through Chile) to El Chalten
in Argentinean Patagonia and spent a week hiking in the area of Mount Fitz
Roy: Laguna Torre, Camp Poincenot, Laguna de los Tres, Piedra del Fraile. This spectacular mountain
range is a major attraction for climbers and hikers. Although it is
well-known for its bad weather, I was lucky and enjoyed mostly sunny days,
but with strong winds. |
