Morocco (May 2017): Hiking in Northern Morocco and Fez

During this trip I spent a few days
hiking in the Al Hoceima National Park and the Rif mountain range before visiting the Imperial City of Fez
(also spelled Fes) for a few more days. See map below. I had heard good things
about the Al Hoceima National Park, but I was disappointed.
The park offers a good combination of beautiful views and interesting culture,
but most of the old cultural sites are in desperate need of repair, too many
roads in still increasing number crisscross the park, and hiking possibilities
are too limited. Moreover, I felt that no one, whether at the local or national
level, bothers about protecting the park environment.
