Sailing
from Phuket (Thailand) to the Andaman Islands (India), and back (February-March
2008)
Return to my
mountaineering-trekking-travel webpage
In
February-March 2008, I went on a sailing trip with the Aiken-Widom family. On a
rented catamaran (Cyrene) we sailed from Phuket to Port Blair (Andaman Islands)
and back. Each crossing took 5 days, including a one-day stop in the Similan
Islands (Thailand). I left the catamaran in Port Blair and for 10 days I
separately visited Havelock, South Button, and Inglis islands.

A nice treat on the boat.

Beaches in Havelock.
Most of
Havelock consists of dense forest, but there are many trails that can be used
for hiking.
Havelock
has also farming areas.
