About Vincent...
I am currently a postdoctoral scholar in the AI Lab. of the CS Department at Stanford University. More precisely, I belong to the research group of Pr. Oussama Khatib: the Manipulation Group. My research work focuses on reactive control approaches for mobile manipulators. I am mostly involved in two projects: one with the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory regarding the control of a Mars rover for rock sample extraction tasks and one with Honda on the software architecture and the control of humanoid robots evolving in human environments.
Background...
I first joined the Manipulation
Group in January 2006 as a visiting postocdoc with the
support of a 8 months Lavoisier
fellowship from the French Foreign
Office.
That was right after graduating my PhD in Automatic Control from l'Institut National
Polytechnique de Toulouse (INPT, France - November 2005).
During my PhD with Assoc. Pr. Pascale Chiron and Jean-Yves Fourquet, I
was a member of the Laboratoire
Génie de Production of l'Ecole Nationale
d'Ingénieurs de Tarbes (ENIT, France). I also
spent some time for experimental work in the Robotique et Intelligence
Artificielle team of the Laboratoire
d'Analyse et d'Architecture des Systèmes (LAAS) in
Toulouse.
Prior to that, I obtained my Engineering Diploma from l'ENIT as
well as my Diplôme d'Etudes Approfondies (MS) in Automatic
Control from l'INPT
in 2001. I spent academic year 1999-2000 in the Nanyang Technological
University of Singapore thanks to a fellowship from the
Fondation Joël Le Theule.
