Located 45km south of San Francisco on a wooded hillside, Filoli is a large country estate centered around a mansion built in the early 20th century. From June to November 2025, it was the site of an outdoor exhibit, called ″TROLLS: Save the Humans″, featuring 6 large sculptures created by artist Thomas Dambo and erected along a hiking trail. Made primarily of wood pallets, these sculptures depict imaginary trolls telling humans how to rediscover nature. This page shows pictures of these trolls. (To see photos of other troll statues by the same artist, which I took in 2023 in the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens of Boothbay in Maine, click here.)

Ronja Redeye, the speaker troll.

Sofus Lotus, the listening troll.

Ibbi Pip, the birdhouse troll.

Kamma Can, the treasure troll.

Basse Buller, the painting troll.

Rosa Sunfinger, the botanical troll.
